- what was your opinion about open science before you attended the workshop?
Before I attended the workshop I didn’t have the chance to get familiar with the open science world. But I always saw it like a more fair place for researching where people can share their data and their ideas to everybody who is willing to get something good out of it.
In addition to that I always believed that It matches perfectly with the science values. Because in the researching world, your achievements become useless if you don’t communicate them with the scientific community.
2. What have you learned about Open science?
Through this workshop I have learn the msin concepts and the eight main pilars of openscience. I have also learned how to be an open scoentist, I became aware of its importancy and how well it fitd with the main researching values.
3. Would you like to be an open scientist?
Even though it’s a little bit complicated to create your gap inside the open science world I would really love to become an open scientist one day. I personally would feel more reslized if my investigational results and the collected data that I got during the investigation can be used for future generations.
At the same time, being part of the open scoentist community you can take the advantage of previous works in your field in a more effective way and this fact is able to minimize the costs of your investigation, minimize the effort and finally it makes you reach more accurate and hence more valid results.
4. Which do you think it’s the main problem of the ERC (Early Career Reaserchers)
Nowadays ERC have a very difficult scenario. One of the main reasons fir that is the governemt cutoffs during crisis time which wheren’t completely recovered jet.
On top of that the young researchers can also find some other difficulties like. Getting lost inside a world that is incresingly more demanding with knowledge and skills or the increasingly smaller places for new proffesors in the universities
I totally agree with you. Nobody want to lose this cake in the area academic, if those ERC can’t get help from the universities or the government, it will be more difficult to continue their work. So as we have learned from the workshop, we need to shift the research assessment system and our government and universities need change their work process.
